Team Stickhead Travel Lacrosse Program 2012:
Team Stickhead will be traveling to regional tournaments during the 2012 summer season. Players are invited to attend the boy’s team tryouts at EP Sawyer State Park on May 22nd, 23rd, 30th. Click the tryout tab for more info. If you can not attend, a player recommendation must be submitted to team personnel by your head coach. If you are interested in being considered, please contact your head coach and have them contact us directly at shawn@stickheadusa.com. We are currently working on finalizing our 2012 summer schedule for all teams. Look for updated info on the team pages. We have secured new coaches for Team Stickhead for 2012. Coaches from Bellarmine, Lynchburg, Centre and others will lead Team Stickhead players into battle.

Team History:
Team Stickhead has been Kentucky’s Premier Lacrosse Travel Program since 1999.
Team Stickhead founders Scott Howe and Shawn Hamill established the summer travel program as a means to provide an increased level of competition while maximizing exposure for student/athletes who want to get to that next level, while developing lifetime skills such as leadership, teamwork and good sportsmanship. Our coaching staff comes from all levels from youth to high school All Americans to current nationally prominent college players who have participated in NCAA Playoffs and won a Division I NCAA Lacrosse Championship. Team Stickhead coaches have a proven track record and their current relationships with major college recruiters is a tremendous asset in helping to place student athletes at NCAA institutions.
Teams Available: (Teams selected by birth year)
Boys:
- Stickhead Select U19 - (Born on or after 9/1/1992)
- Stickhead Rising U17 - (Born on or after 9/1/1994)
- U15 – (Born on or after 9/1/1996; HS players may not be eligible for all tournaments)
- U13 – (Born on or after 9/1/1998)
- U11 – (Born on or after 9/1/2000)
Girls:
- U15 – (rising 6th, 7th & 8th graders)
- Can not be 15 on or before Dec 31, 2011
Team Stickhead Select Travel Team is a way for the best high school, middle school & youth lacrosse players in Kentucky to advance their skills and highlight their talent for college coaches at national and regional team camps & tournaments. Youth & Middle School teams provide access to advance coaching technicals and advanced team concepts in to prepare them for lacrosse at the next level. Team Stickhead coaches will direct & supervise programs during all team practices and tournaments. Players will be selected during open tryouts in which they will be put through a college style practice. Team Stickhead will be sponsored by Stickhead Lacrosse & Sports who will provide players with a one of kind team uniforms, team helmets & goggles, program extras that could include heads, shafts, gloves and bags to be used at all tournaments as well as complimentary team practice gear. Additional support is provided by River City Sports Arena for indoor training facility, team practices, team meetings and extra skills development. Team Stickhead will be coached by our area college, high school & middle school coaches. Each team will have one head coach & assistants to direct their program. Coaches will provide players with the best possible instruction and guidance in order to advance their skills and prepare them to play lacrosse at the next level. In addition to top area coaches, Stickhead staff will be supported by current & former DI, DII & DIII NCAA players.
Eligibility (Boys):
- Any Kentucky male player attending high school or home schooled during the spring 2012
- No 2012 graduating seniors
- No 2011/12 post graduate players
- Must have played at least one season of orangized lacrosse
- Team will be limited to top players in each division to assure playing time
Eligibility (Girls):
Team Stickhead KY participants will receive:
- Top level coaching to provide next level skills and practice habits.
- Each player will have access to all program resources to make potential contacts in the college recruiting process.
- On request all players will receive a detailed analysis from the coaching staff concerning player’s strengths and weakness which will allow players to better improve their game.
- Each player will receive a team uniform and helmet or goggles to use during their participation with Team Stickhead. Additional team gear will be provided, which can include team bags, gloves, heads & shafts.
- Additional unlimited Team Stickhead apparel will be available for purchase to all players and families through exclusive Under Armour Team Stickhead website. More information will be provided at the team meeting.
Practices:
- Practices will contain college level drills and players will learn a fast paced style of play. Actual college level practices will take place for age appropriate teams.
- Team practices will take place in Louisville, KY and all Team Stickhead participants will be expected to be at most practices as possible.
- All Practices will be held at EP Sawyer State Park.
- Practice Dates are as follows (More practices will be added), every Tuesday and Thursday from 6-8pm beginning June 7th.
- We will enroll in regional national tournaments/team camps dependant on level of program.
- Players are expected to provide & fund their own travel and lodging to each event. Some meals may be provided by Team Stickhead, but players will need to cover most meal expenses.
- Players will be required to cover any entry fee expenses to all tournaments. This includes individual registration fees (Gait Cup & Baltimore Summer Kickoff).
- Team Stickhead participants will be required to adhere to proper conduct and sportsmanship at all team activities. Failure to abide by Team policies could result in removal from team. Any team fees will be forfeited.
