Scott Howe
Scott was a major force in establishing lacrosse to Kentucky. Growing up in Baltimore, he played High School Lacrosse for the Gilman School in the toughest High School League in the country.
Scott was a 4 year starter and letter winner at the University of Virginia and was on the 1972 National Championship Team.
Arriving in Kentucky, Scott organized, and coached the first boys high school team in the state and is head coach of defending state champion St. Xavier High School . Under his leadership, St. Xavier Lacrosse has won six (7) state lacrosse championships out of the 11 that have been played including the last 4 in a row.
Coach Howe serves as the US Lacrosse Boy’s Area Chairman for Kentucky and in 2009 he coached the West Team in the US Lacrosse National Senior Showcase Games in Providence, Rhode Island. Coach Howe was selected by his coaching peers as the 2011 Man of the Year for KY. Coach Howe is CEO/President of Commercial Management Group and River City Sports Arena.
Shawn Hamill
Shawn grew up in Salisbury, MD and played college lacrosse at Washington College a D3 national contender and has a Master’s in Education from Xavier University in Cincinnati.
For over a decade, Shawn has been instrumental with the growth of lacrosse in Kentucky. After coaching stints with the Louisville Lacrosse Club and Manual Lacrosse Club, Shawn turned his efforts to facilitating the development of a certified boy’s officiating program in 2003.
Shawn was instrumental in developing a Youth Officiating Program for Kentucky and as the Louisville area boy’s official assignor, Shawn has been responsible for the recruitment of officials developing the officials training program. Shawn officiates all levels of lacrosse including NCAA & High School officiating.
He has served several terms for the Kentucky Lacrosse Association and served most recently as the board secretary. In 2004 Shawn was selected as Kentucky’s “Man of the Year” by the Boy’s High School Head Coaches.
He recently served as president of the Maker’s Mark Lacrosse Club. During his time as club president, Shawn assisted with growth and re-establishment of the club, including the club’s involvement with Habitat for Humanity. He is currently a member of the Bluegrass 35 & over Men’s Lacrosse Club. Shawn is a resident of Middletown, where he lives with his wife Holly and has two children Connor & Kate.
